Men Can Smell When Women Are Horny … Apparently?

Can a man truly smell when a woman is horny? I hear you …

Depends on who you ask. Without bursting or significantly inflating anyone’s ego, research suggests that female arousal may have a distinct scent, and men may be able to pick up on it. So, if a woman is feeling turned on, the guy standing behind her in the grocery store line might be more aware of her body chemistry than either of them realizes.

According to research from the University of Kent, men may be able to distinguish between the scent of a woman who is sexually aroused and one who is not.

Additionally, the findings suggest that men may feel more attracted to women when they detect scent signals linked to arousal.

Scent, Pheromones, and Sexual Attraction

We have long known that scent plays a significant role in sexual attraction. Some studies have shown that men can subconsciously pick up on the scent of ovulation and may feel especially attracted to women during this stage of the menstrual cycle. Other studies suggest that women may be attracted to men whose immune system genes are different from theirs, or whose natural body odor they find more alluring.

Dr. Arnaud Wisman, a psychologist and researcher at Kent, explored whether humans can communicate and detect sexual arousal through chemosignals, or the chemical signals emitted by the human body through scent.

To conduct his research, Wisman recruited 11 heterosexual women and collected samples of their armpit sweat while they watched a documentary about bridge building and again while they watched an erotic film.

Then, Wisman had 24 heterosexual male students evaluate the samples in a randomized order and record how intense and attractive they found each scent.

Overall, the men reported that they found the samples taken when the women were aroused more attractive than the sweat collected while the women were watching the documentary.

Additionally, Wisman conducted two other experiments and found that the men were also turned on by the aroused women’s sweat, which appeared to increase their “sexual motivation.”

Why Body Chemistry Matters

For the nonbelievers, remember how powerful scent can be. We know smell affects memory, emotion, attraction, and how we respond to the people around us. When it comes to chemistry, body scent can say a lot before anyone says a word.

Attraction is easier when you feel more confident, more social, and more charismatic around the person you desire. Whether you are dating, flirting, deepening intimacy, or simply trying to feel more magnetic in your own skin, scent can play a major role in how others experience your presence.

That said, anyone seeking stronger social responses through scent can explore Eye of Love’s pheromone perfumes, pheromone colognes, pheromone candles, body oils, and unscented pheromones. These attraction-focused products are designed to work with the human science of scent, pheromones, and body chemistry.

Eye of Love products help enhance your natural scent signals and support the kind of confidence, chemistry, and attraction that can make you feel unforgettable.
